Presented by the MIRECC of the VA Desert-Pacific Healthcare Network, Department of Veterans Affairs Employee Education System, and the UCSD Department of Psychiatry in cooperation with the Chesapeake Health Education Program, Inc. and the VA Maryland Health Care System .


Objectives

At the conclusion of the program, participants will:

  1. be exposed to epidemiological evidence that people recover from even the most severe forms of mental illness
  2. learn the principles of how people recover and the empowerment model of recovery
  3. be introduced to eight ways that psychiatrists (and other professionals) can improve their practice by adopting a recovery approach
